    Theme

Are you a birth mother? Is the child you lost to adoption now grown up? Has this grown up daughter or son made you a grandmother? Do you have contact with your grandchild/ren, or wish you could have contact? Are you wondering if you may become a grandmother soon, or may be one already? Do you worry that you might not be told, and might never meet your grandchildren? Are you finding it difficult knowing your grandchildren, but not being allowed to tell them who you are?

If the answer to some of these questions is "yes", this day is designed especially for you. It will provide an opportunity for you to share your experiences, your hopes, your fears, your sorrows and joys, in an informal, safe and supportive environment.

    Aims
To help participants: talk about their complex feelings around becoming a grandmother and, perhaps, being denied a role as "Granny" or "Grandma"; meet others in a similar situation; feel less isolation; become part of an informal network of women with related experiences.

    Who should attend
Birth mothers of now adult sons and daughters who have started a family of their own, or who may soon do so.

Please note: Closing date for applications is 28 August 2008
    Date: Thursday 25 September 2008
    Time: 10.00am - 4.00pm
Venue: London Irish Centre, 50 - 52 Camden Square, London NW1
Facilitator Monica Bradley & Rita Cleary
    Fees (inc.VAT)

    Non-Subscriber £ 82 .00
